1. Do you think America's form of liberty is closer to Berlin's idea of Positive Liberty or Negative Liberty? Explain your answer. How do you think America developed into this type of liberty? Do you think it is successful, or should it be changed?
2. Our founding fathers created our nation based on freedom and liberty. Do you think if they were alive now, they would be please with what America's freedom is now, or would they think America has given up too much freedom? Explain with some examples.

2)Although we technically are "free" we at the same time are not.Everything that we do is controlled in one form or another. Lets take shopping for example, We think that it is our right to express ourselves threw what clothes we buy but what we don't realize is that the companies control what we buy by what they decide is in style thus put on their shelves for us as the consumers to buy. We may be "free" but we are not.
2. I dont think that we have truly given up that much freedom. Ya the market controls what the "style" is that season to some extent. But, its not overly done. This week in Boston I met kids from China who had never been to a dance with a D.J. before. I would have to say as Americans were pretty dang free. Wouldnt you? We can choose our music, clothes, what we watch on tv.. It's not controlled by the government like it is in other countries. If anything I think our founding fathers would be pretty happy that America has been able to keep a government, that for the most part, gives us all the freedom we want. If you look at governments like Africa, they keep their people poor. There is so much corruption its not even funny. The people dont have the options we have. We have no one over here in America helping "free" our people from an over bearing leaders, or group controlling the country. But, instead we are trying to promote that across the planet.

How do you or our founding fathers define freedom? I dont think we have given up too much freedom. Although we are extremely free in what we do we do have boundries. in other countries you arent aloud to say certian things, wear certian things, or watch certain things because its usally controlled. If our founding fathers were to come back right now i dont think they would have a problem with how the world is being ran, and how much "freedom" is given out. Then they would look at other governments and notice how much problems and how corrupted other governments are. We arent as much worried about our freedom but the freedom of other people in other countries who are under serious lockdown due to there corrupt leaders and controlling people.

i think our founding fathers would be pleased and displeased at what our country has become. If you look at that time we rebelled against Britain to get our freedom, which in other terms could be looked at as positive freedom. They would be pleased that we our still free today. They would be displeased with our economy and what it has become. In a sense they could see that as losing liberty because we are relying on other countries much more than we used to for help.
1. I feel that America's liberty follows Berlin's Positive liberty much more closely. Not only do we allow people to exercise their social rights, but also civil rights as well. I feel that America as a country has progressed from having Negative liberty, to today being much more Positive. the obvious answer is yes, it is successful in many aspects, but i feel that it will continually evolve as we move onward.
